The Maintenance & Engineering Manager is responsible for the overall safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company

  • The Technical Manager will directly oversee the Maintenance and Facilities staff.
  • Initiates, implements, and manages a TPM plant maintenance program based on best practices, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance
  • Hire, train, motivate, coach and counsel staff in order to achieve a team of highly skilled, customer-focused technicians
  • Responsible for installation and maintenance of machinery, equipment, etc
  • Oversees work performed by outside contractors as necessary
  • Keeps related records and charts, plus analyzes their implications
  • Ensures departmental compliance with company policies, including safety regulations, OSHA standards and building codes
  • Schedules and performs preventative maintenance checks and keeps related records
  • Aids in troubleshooting problems with machinery and equipment
  • Improve the methods of tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment
  • Aids in identifying repetitive equipment failures and determining the root cause of ongoing equipment failures
  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs
  • Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, et
  • Oversee plant expanision and machine upgrade projects.
  • Manage external Maintenance and Facilities vendors and contractors, including reviewing proposals, quotes, bids and prices; ensure that all Maintenance contractors follow corporate Safety procedures and their insurance coverage complies with corporate requirements
  • Review the mechanic utilization reports and initiate actions that lead to the improvement of mechanic effectiveness; review maintenance work backlogs and prioritizes jointly with the Maintenance Supervisors schedules to support operation’s needs; reviews equipment downtime reports and takes action to improve equipment performance
  • Ensure effective communication between all Maintenance and Facilities personnel
  • Ensure that equipment history is developed through the implementation and upkeep of a work order in our ERP system
  • Perform regular audits of the maintenance shop, the boneyard and chemical storage practices to ensure that tools and equipment are organized and stored properly, and ensure proper labeling according to the manufacturer’s recommendations
  • Develop the Maintenance department training needs, ensure that adequate funding is allocated to support the identified needs, and develop back-up positions and bench strength to ensure continuity and proper coverage
  • Review mechanic overtime reports and take actions to improve manpower utilization, maintain the maintenance budget
  • Promotes and maintains positive relationships between all levels of management and maintenance associates
  • Reviews and approves all corrective actions; prepares and issues performance reviews to all associates under his supervision
  • Effectively select, train, develop, motivate, manage and control a subordinate staff and ensure efficient operations and maximum service
  • Regularly review and update all department SOPs, including work order processes and daily maintenance requirements
  • Administer personnel policy in accordance with corporate policy and procedures
  • Provide coaching, training and feedback for each supervisor and/or staff member as needed.
  • Enforces Good Manufacturing Practices to comply with SQF and regulatory program requirements, support QA and Foreign Object prevention programs, and reports any concerns, issues
