Job Type Full-time Description Abby’s Catering has been providing one-of-a-kind culinary and hospitality experience since opening in 1980. Our customers are high profile passengers visiting or residing in Houston. Celebrities, government officials, head of states, secretaries, industry leaders, all traveling out of Houston aboard private, corporate, and commercial aircrafts are part of Abby’s valued circle of customers. Abby’s also provides exclusive gourmet delights for corporate offices, private and corporate events as well as food service management contracts. Position: The Operations Manager oversees the performance of the assigned division. He / She analyzes and improves organizational processes, and works to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency. Quality management, Safety and training programs, productivity enhancements, on time performance, automation, meeting structure and motivational team building are only a few of the Operations Manager’s remits. Quality (food & Service) and financial performance are the keys that set Abby’s apart from the competition. Reports to: Chief Operating Officer To him/her report: Commercial Account Manager, Warehouse Manger, Equipment & Sanitation Manager, and Commercial Aviation Transportation Manager Essential functions: Leadership, Management and Accountability Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports and problem resolution Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service Partner with cross-functional support teams in improving the proprietary tools and systems Excellent presentation and communication skills A deep understanding of data and data analytics General building upkeep and maintenance Develop and maintain a program to maintain Vehicle preventative maintenance Fluent in English, bilingual Spanish speaking is a big plus Highly flexible and analytical, pro-active player Problem solver mentality, barrier remover Good knowledge of food safety and OSHA standards Meticulous time manager with the ultimate attention to detail Job description includes partially working in cold room environment and physical work as needed Company Core Values: You must be willing to embrace our Company Core Values in the way you dedicate yourself to work: CATCH Customer Service Accountability Teamwork Competitiveness Honesty Our Mission: “To continue to be the leading in-flight and corporate catering company serving the Houston & Dallas Metro market by using locally sourced and sustainable raw ingredients, providing the most memorable and personalized attention to detail all while maintaining a fiscally sound budget and complying with the highest food safety standards.” Job Type: Full-time Salary: Depending on the experience Requirements Requirements: • Leadership, Management and Accountability • Set and lead weekly L-10 meetings for all operational teams • Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity • Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports and problem resolution • Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service • Partner with cross-functional support teams in improving the proprietary tools and systems Excellent presentation and communication skills Fluent in English, bilingual Spanish speaking is a big plus Highly flexible and analytical, pro-active player Problem solver mentality, barrier remover Good knowledge of food safety and OSHA standards Meticulous time manager with the ultimate attention to detail Job description includes partially working in cold room environment and physical work as needed Qualifications: • Industry knowledge is a big plus • Proven experience in a similar type / size role • Ability to read and interpret budgets, KPIs and other financial data • Computer savvy (MS Office applications, in particular EXCEL) • Great integrator and communicator skills • Ability to promote a company culture that encourage moral and performance • Assist HR with recruiting (e.g. Job Descriptions, interviews, trainings etc.) • HRIS “Paylocity” user is an advantage • Eligibility for US Airport Badges (pass 10 years Federal background check) Required education: Degree in (food) manufacturing Six Sigma Certification ServSafe Food Manager Certificate DL class C (CDL class B preferred)
