SUMMARY:The incumbent will direct and coordinate all areas of warehousing, shipping, receiving and storage of raw & finished goods/materials. Person will manage and control activities related to scheduling, storage, Kanban’s and inventory of materials to meet production requirements, delivery schedules, kitting for contract manufacturing, manage and reorder MRO supplies, and all other inventory-related P&L objectives. Manages raw materials and components for work in process and finished goods to ensure customer, revenue and net inventory objectives are met. The person also plans and implements needed work for all product groups, ensuring approved parts or materials and indirect manpower are available for the manufacturing team to perform the work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Plan, coordinate, manage and control activities related to the receipt, scheduling, storage, and inventory movements of material, parts, supplies and services to meet production requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Plan and manage short and long-range inventory plans for work in process, finished goods, etc., to meet P&L objectives.
  • Manage the material management programs to meet manufacturing requirements. Analyze and evaluate inventory and production capacities and plans in relation to current and long-range commitments.
  • Advise management as to potential delivery performance and problem areas. Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports.
  • Liaison with Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, Manufacturing, etc. to prioritize and complete customer orders, new product development/ launch, customer audits, internal & external audits, inventory control as per business requirements.
  • Maintain and manage material backlog requirements to meet customer expectations
  • Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Manage 3rd party manufacturer for planning and supply of product (as required).
  • Make decisions to release, firm, cancel, or defer work based upon current inventory, demand, capacity, and material availability.
  • Coordinate proper rotation of inventory to minimize scrap/reworked parts at incorporation time.
  • Understand and facilitate the use of KANBANs and other methods to ensure the highest quality and linearity are attainable to production.
  • Identify, collect, analyze, and create data reporting that support Inventory Management, Inventory Accuracy, Scrap Analysis/ accuracy, etc.
  • Ensure updates to all Oracle ERP Demand History, Forecast, MPS, MDS and MRP data.
  • Drive key Inventory Management opportunities through creation of plans that optimize inventory levels
  • Manage shipping dept & personnel for on time customer orders (domestic & foreign) and maintain reports as per management requirements.
  • Manage receiving dept & personnel and maintain FIFO, Kanban, fast/ slow moving, MRO and other CM vendor supplies as per management requirements.
  • Assist in creating and executing all supply chain material cost savings projects
  • Perform cycle counts on parts as required by the management team.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain or related field.
  • Three to five years’ experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Previous experience with MRP and ERP software required; Oracle preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge in using methodologies in support of manufacturing process improvement efforts (Kanban’s, Inventory Pull Systems, Lean, etc.).
  • Self-starter; able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to interpret documents such as work instructions, schematics and drawings, process routers, bills of material, procedure manuals, and safety rules.
  • Capable of providing mentoring and give guidance to subordinated and other employees.
