ASSISTANT PLANT MANAGER – HARTWELL, GA

LARGE GLOBAL FOOD / MEAT MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN HARTWELL, GA IS HIRING AN EXPERIENCED ASSISTANT PLANT MANAGER!

We are looking for a strong, hands-on manufacturing leader with experience managing production operations, developing supervisors, meeting production goals, and driving operational improvements.

CANDIDATES MUST COME FROM FOOD OR MEAT MANUFACTURING. OTHER MANUFACTURING BACKGROUNDS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

This is a non-union manufacturing facility with long-term career growth opportunities.

PAY & SCHEDULE

• Salary: $85,000 annually

• Shift: Day Shift

• Location: Hartwell, GA

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, with Saturday availability required

• Industry: Food / Meat Manufacturing

• Facility: Non-Union

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of production/manufacturing management experience.

• Food or meat manufacturing experience REQUIRED.

• Strong experience managing production supervisors and employees.

• Stable employment history required. Candidates with frequent job changes will not be considered.

• Proven ability to meet production goals and manage manufacturing KPIs.

• Strong leadership, communication, and employee-development skills.

• Experience with production scheduling, staffing, and labor planning.

• Ability to manage safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.

• Hands-on leadership style with a strong presence on the production floor.

• Must successfully complete a pre-interview assessment.

• Must be open to working Saturdays when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead daily food/meat manufacturing operations.

• Manage, coach, and develop production supervisors and employees.

• Develop and execute production schedules.

• Ensure production goals, quality standards, and delivery requirements are met.

• Monitor KPIs, downtime, labor efficiency, quality, and output.

• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.

• Manage staffing, employee performance, training, and development.

• Drive continuous improvement, waste reduction, and productivity initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with manufacturing safety and food quality requirements.

• Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain.

• Optimize labor, equipment, materials, and production capacity.

• Support production budgets and operating cost controls.

• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

TECHNICAL & LEADERSHIP SKILLS

Strong experience with:

• Food / Meat Manufacturing Operations

• Production management and scheduling

• Supervising and developing production teams

• Manufacturing KPIs and performance metrics

• Labor planning and resource allocation

• Food safety and quality standards

• Production troubleshooting

• Downtime and waste reduction

• Employee performance management

• Continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing

Preferred: ERP/MRP systems, Six Sigma, production budgeting, and process improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of manufacturing/production management experience.

• Food or meat manufacturing background required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.

• Experience managing production supervisors and manufacturing employees.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Stable work history and a genuine interest in long-term career growth.
