PLC Controls Technician openings in Denver CO. Looking for someone very sharp with PLCs and someone who comes from a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Pays: $30-$38 hourly

Shifts:

Front End: Sun-Tues 6am-6pm then Sun-Wed 6am-6pm following week

Back End: Thurs-Sat 6am-6pm then Wed-Sat 6am-6pm 

Automation Technician

Position Summary

The Automation Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated manufacturing equipment to maximize uptime, reliability, and production efficiency. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives by working closely with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance to optimize equipment performance, reduce downtime, and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair automated manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on automation equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and assist with programming PLCs, HMIs, and industrial robots.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and automation projects.
  • Partner with Engineering to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency.
  • Calibrate sensors, vision systems, and automated equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, industrial controls, and robotics.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
