MANUFACTURING PLANT IN WAUKESHA WI IS LOOKING FOR A DAY SHIFT CNC MACHINIST WHO CAN PROGRAM.
SHIFT: 7AM-330PM
PAYS: $20-$30 HOURLY
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Operator: Operate key CNC equipment, mentor and develop CNC operators, and maintain the work area.
- Program Development: Create, test, and optimize G-code and M-code programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, or Edgecam) for 3, 4, and 5-axis horizontal machining.
- Process Engineering: Determine the most efficient manufacturing sequence, including tool selection, spindle speeds, and feed rates to maximize tool life and part finish.
- Fixturing and Workholding: Design and develop custom fixture layouts and setups to secure workpieces during horizontal machining cycles.
- Blueprints and GD&T: Interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure all components meet tight tolerances (often down to .0005).
- Program Prove-Out: Conduct dry runs and test operations to “validate” new programs, making manual adjustments at the machine controller (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens) to ensure accuracy.
- Quality Assurance: Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision tools like micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
- Technical Support: Provide troubleshooting guidance to machinists and operators during set-up and production.

- Experience: Typically requires 2–5+ years of experience in CNC programming, specifically with multi-axis horizontal equipment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of CAM platforms (Mastercam, SolidWorks) and simulation software.
- Mathematical Aptitude: Strong proficiency in shop math, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Visual acuity for close inspection of machined parts and reading technical diagrams.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Experience in high-volume or high-mix manufacturing environments
- Robotics troubleshooting (Fanuc, ABB, UR, etc.)
- Lean / TPM / Reliability Maintenance experience
