MANUFACTURING PLANT IN BRISTOL CT IS LOOKING FOR A MAINTENANCE & TOOLING SUPERVISOR. LOOKING FOR SOMEONE ON THE DAY SHIFT. AND LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH A STRONG BACKGROUND IN TOOLING. 

MUST HAVE US PASSPORT AS TRAINING IS DONE IN GERMANY FOR 4-6 WEEKS

SHIFT: MON-FRI 6AM-2PM

PAYS: $30-$34 HOURLY

Position Summary

The Maintenance & Tooling Supervisor supports production operations by minimizing unscheduled downtime through effective maintenance of tools, equipment, and facility systems. This role coordinates and performs mechanical and electrical service and repairs on production, quality control, and support equipment, as well as oversees general building and grounds maintenance.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, service, and periodic overhauls on machinery and equipment.

  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge to assemble, reassemble, maintain, and repair production equipment.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and system failures.

  • Maintain tools and diagnostic equipment required to complete job assignments.

  • Complete and submit required maintenance documentation and payroll information accurately and on time.

  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs for all production and support equipment.

  • Maintain flexibility in work hours to perform preventive and emergency maintenance during non-production hours.

  • Train production staff to assist with maintenance and equipment support.

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and represent the company professionally.

  • Develop and manage communication with German tooling and production departments.

  • Design and implement a fully operational maintenance and repair tool shop (with Production Manager approval).

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA and Workers’ Compensation regulations.

  • Supervise and/or perform regular maintenance on building mechanical systems, documenting all work.

  • Oversee property and parking lot maintenance.

  • Fill in as a machine operator when necessary.

  • Ensure equipment complies with pinch point, lockout/tagout, confined space, and hazardous emissions regulations.

  • Maintain an environmental issues log documenting activities related to air, water, and material pollutants to ensure compliance and liability protection.


Job Impact

This supervisory support role is critical to the efficient operation of the production facility. The position ensures maximum operational efficiency with minimal downtime to meet customer requirements. The role requires strong collaboration with machine operators and production staff.


Reporting Structure & Authority

  • Reports to the Production Manager (production-related matters).

  • Reports to the QC Manager (quality-related matters).

  • Authorized to organize and coordinate maintenance scheduling to minimize production impact (with Production Manager approval).

  • All financial expenditures require Production Manager approval.
