Job Title: Maintenance Lead
Location: Gilman, CT
Shift: 1st Shift (6:00am–2:00pm)
Schedule: Monday–Friday (Saturdays as needed)
Pay Range: $40–$47 per hour (based on experience)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Lead to oversee 1st shift maintenance operations at our Gilman, CT facility. This role is responsible for leading daily maintenance activities, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring maximum equipment uptime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Maintenance Lead will provide technical direction, prioritize work orders, support troubleshooting efforts, and serve as the primary point of contact between maintenance and production teams.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate daily activities of the maintenance team to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Assign, prioritize, and monitor work orders to minimize downtime and meet production goals.

Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

Oversee preventive maintenance (PM) programs on motors, conveyors, extrusion equipment, pneumatic tools, and production machinery.

Troubleshoot and repair 120V, 240V, and 480V 3-phase electrical systems.

Provide technical guidance on PLC-related troubleshooting (as applicable).

Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities in CMMS, including PM completion and corrective work.

Coordinate emergency repairs and respond quickly to production downtime events.

Support root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.

Assist in training and mentoring maintenance technicians to improve technical skill sets and safety awareness.

Submit and track purchase requisitions for parts, tools, and supplies.

Maintain shift-to-shift communication to ensure continuity of projects and repairs.

Enforce safety standards including Lockout/Tagout procedures and company safety policies.

Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost-reduction efforts.

Perform hands-on maintenance duties as required.
Experience / Knowledge Requirements

Proven experience as a Maintenance Lead, Senior Maintenance Technician, or similar leadership role in manufacturing.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and production equipment.

Experience with MIG and stick welding, fabrication, and basic plumbing.

Electrical troubleshooting experience with 120V, 240V, and 480V 3-phase systems required.

Extrusion experience preferred.

Working knowledge of PLC troubleshooting is a plus.

Experience using CMMS for work order management and PM tracking.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and safety procedures.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to operate forklifts, man lifts, and other industrial equipment.

Basic computer proficiency for documentation and reporting.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Flexibility to work overtime and respond to emergency repairs when necessary.
