EHS Coordinator

The EHS Coordinator supports all Environmental, Health, and Safety functions across the facility, ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate reporting, strong safety practices, and a proactive safety culture. This is a hands-on role working directly with operations to maintain and continuously improve the EHS management system, enhance team training, and ensure environmental and safety preparedness.


Key Responsibilities (Condensed & Organized)

Safety & Compliance Leadership

  • Maintain OSHA, EPA (Air Services, Wastewater), DOT, city, state, and federal compliance.

  • Ensure audit readiness and implement corrective actions from incident investigations, audits, and observations.

  • Manage Workers’ Compensation and injury claim processes.

  • Develop and maintain Emergency Action Plans (EAP).

  • Lead Process Safety Management (PSM) for Ammonia Refrigeration systems.

Training & Culture Development

  • Promote a strong safety and wellness culture across the facility.

  • Train leadership and employees on LOTO/HECP, machine guarding, ergonomics, incident investigation, PIV, and Safe Workplace Audit principles.

  • Conduct quarterly, annual, and required regulatory trainings.

  • Lead monthly safety meetings and support behavior-based safety initiatives.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate reporting and documentation for regulatory agencies and internal systems.

  • Prepare required OSHA/EPA reports and ensure timely submissions.

  • Use CMMS and computerized platforms for tracking and documentation.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work with senior leadership to align EHS goals with company mission and objectives.

  • Solicit feedback from employees to identify and reduce workplace risks.

  • Support site security, environmental controls, and risk prevention efforts.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision while supporting operations teams.


Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in EH&S, Environmental Science, Operations, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of EHS management or coordination experience.

  • OSHA 10 General Industry.

  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal).

  • Experience with CMMS, regulatory reporting systems, and Microsoft Office.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in EH&S, Operations, or Engineering.

  • Food manufacturing experience.

  • OSHA 30 General Industry.

  • Experience with Ammonia PSM programs.

  • Background in Behavior-Based Safety systems.

  • Knowledge of wastewater pre-treatment systems.
