FOOD MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN VERNON CA IS LOOKING FOR A STRONG MAINTENANCE MECHANIC WITH A STRONG BACKGROUND IN ELECTRICAL

MUST HAVE 480V, PLCS, VFDS, TRADE SCHOOL TRAINING AND COME FROM A HIGH-SPEED MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT

1ST SHIFT 430AM-230PM MON-FRI WITH SOME SATS

PAYS: $40-$45 HOURLY
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on plant machinery, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues using diagnostic tools and technical manuals, ensuring timely repairs and minimal downtime.

  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and document results to maintain optimal equipment performance.

  • Fabricate, repair, or replace parts using welding, machining, and other mechanical techniques as needed.

  • Assist in the installation, testing, and calibration of new equipment or machinery.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, including repair reports, spare parts usage, and equipment history.

  • Work closely with production teams to identify equipment issues and provide solutions to improve efficiency.

  • Follow all safety guidelines, including lockout/tagout procedures, to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment reliability and plant productivity.

  • Assist with inventory management of spare parts and maintenance supplies.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance preferred.

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting, variable frequency drives, and automated machinery is a plus.

  • Proficiency in welding (TIG, MIG, Stick) and fabrication techniques preferred.

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.

  • Willingness to work overtime or on-call as needed.
