Large Food Manufacturing plant in Santa Ana CA is looking for a strong Maintenance Manager who is a strong leader and change manager. Looking for someone who is strong with projects and people development.
Salary Range is $110k-$130k with a 10% Target bonus

JOB DESCRIPTION: Maintenance Manager
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overall plant maintenance. The Maintenance Manager develops, establishes, and is held responsible for maintenance goals and performance.
The Maintenance Manager works closely with the Engineering Department to meet project goals, determines department budgetary constraints, and keeps the plant running.
Direct and coordinate plant maintenance, fully complying with company/plant policies and procedures.
Responsible for Maintenance budget.
Responsible for plant and maintenance goals.
Conversion – Manage the efforts of the maintenance team on individual lines or technologies across multiple shifts in the efficient conversion of materials into quality products in a safe, secure, and sanitary manner within the product design specifications and budgets.
Cost Control/Improvement – Responsible for maintenance budget and cost control and improvement.
Develop/implement appropriate strategies which will allow production unit(s) to find innovative/cost effective ways to improve product quality/increase capacity/reduce costs for current and future needs.
Change Agent – Recommend and implement changes in methods, equipment, systems, and organization, as needed, to ensure that the objectives of the area are met.
Deliver area requirements by influencing and gaining co-operation from others.
Manufacturing Process and Capacity Development – Ensure systems and processes are in place to produce high-quality products on time and in a cost-effective manner.
Develop and implement effective company policy in the areas of lean manufacturing techniques, quality, and cost reduction. Identify, communicate, and drive implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.
Food Safety and Product Quality – Ensure the ongoing production of safe and defect free products consistent with the principles of the Company. A proficiency of HACCP is required.
Staffing – Select, develop/train and maintain a well-trained and motivated staff.
Directly supervises and advises three Maintenance Shift Managers and two Maintenance Shift Managers.
Teach, coach, and hold direct reports accountable for work assignment accuracy.
Conduct employee performance reviews.
Safety – Maintain a clean, organized, and safe plant.
Ensure and demand a high level of safety awareness.
Enforce all safety policies, rules, and regulations.
Participate in monthly inspections of the entire facility.
Collaboration – Act as a liaison between plant and corporate departments, specifically the Engineering Department.
Coordinate with the Engineering Department to oversee the implementation of capital projects.
Work with maintenance supervisors to decide if equipment should be constructed by in-house labor or contractors.
Coordinate outside labor in project implementation with in-house departments.
Work with company to implement a five-year building plan.
Assist in the development of all emergency preparedness plans for plant including power outages, hazardous spills, and catastrophic failure of equipment.
Work with parts department to ensure that necessary parts are on hand to complete regular work and scheduled PM’s.
Track record of evaluating and improving equipment.
Schedule and conduct department meetings.
Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess a wide scope of knowledge of baking operations including processing, packaging, facility maintenance and engineering.
Project management experience, strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience with budgeting, cost control and budget review.
Experience in work order systems, work scheduling, PM’s and predictive maintenance,
Track record of evaluating and improving equipment performance.
Skilled at developing management teams and individuals within the teams.
Maintenance tracking system/software experience.
Experience with Microsoft products preferred – Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Must successfully complete Lock Out/Tag Out training.
