LARGE MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN TOTOWA NJ IS LOOKING FOR A STRONG OPERATIONS MANAGER. WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMONE IN FOOD PROCESSING WHO IS STRONG WITH LEAN MANUFACTURING, STRONG WITH CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS, STRONG WITH DRIVING CHANGE IN A FACILITY, STRONG WITH CHANGING THE CULTURE AT A PLANT. 

SALARY RANGE IS BETWEEN $110K-$130K SALARY WITH A 10% BONUS

 

The Operations Manager – (Production, Process and Equipment) will demonstrate leadership in communicating and driving business goals, production, and processes. They will utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives and have the ability to effect short-term and long-term business goals. This role is responsible for leading the operational team and driving forward tactical & strategic manufacturing objectives determined by the leadership team.

  • Coach, mentor, and set goals for direct reports and their teams
  • Lead the development, education, and training of new and improved manufacturing methods and creation of process standards, hands on
  • Support equipment upgrades from purchase through installation
  • Drive and sustain process improvement in manufacturing operation
  • Identify and reduce sources of labor efficiency variations
  • Identify and reduce product nonconformance’s caused by process variation
  • Utilize continuous improvement principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability; reduce overall cost and increase capacity
  • Resolve manufacturing process problems through execution of proper root cause analysis
  • Ability to develop and/or execute operational projects to increase performance
  • Pursue continuous improvement for equipment efficiency, quality and cost reduction
  • Work as change agent, understanding and supporting leading operation toward world-class performance
  • Interface with cross functional leadership quality, human resources, sales, finance to help support business goals
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Experience managing to KPI metrics required
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in the manufacturing industry; preferably repetitive manufacturing
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience
  • Ability to make data driven decision
  • Demonstrated root cause analyses skills
  • Familiarity with Lean tools (5s, SMED, Kaizen) preferred 
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Microsoft suite; strong ability to utilize Excel as a tool for tracking and analysis
  • Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical Engineering or an Engineering discipline from an accredited university or college highly preferred

 

  • ERP experience required; experience with SAP highly preferred
