nJob Description: Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for plant maintenance. The Maintenance Manager maintains a positive atmosphere and upholds the plant and company goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. The Maintenance Manager develops, establishes, and is held responsible for maintenance goals and performance. The Maintenance Manager has overall responsibility for the up time of manufacturing equipment and the safety of plant personnel. This role is not a front-line mechanic role. The Maintenance Manager must successfully delegate roles, responsibilities, and tasks to the appropriate level of labor to ensure effective completion.

Essential Functions:

- Direct and coordinate plant maintenance within company policies and procedures.nt
- Responsible for the strategic planning of the Maintenance Group to include the following:nt
- Creation, Communication, and Implementation of an overall maintenance strategy.nt
- Creation, Communication, and Implementation of an equipment reliability program.nt
- Create and execute the Maintenance Budget.n

- Responsible for developing and leading continuous improvement in the plant, especially as it relates to the efficiency of the Maintenance Department.nt
- Ability to extract, interpret, and effectively communicate data from various electronic and paper sources to make fact-based decisions.nt
- Cost Control/Improvement – Responsible for maintenance budget and cost control and improvement. Develop/implement appropriate strategies which will allow production unit(s) to find innovative/cost effective ways to improve product quality/increase capacity/reduce costs for current and future needs.nt
- Change Agent – Recommend and implement changes in methods, equipment, systems, and organization, as needed, to ensure that the objectives of the area are met. Deliver area requirements by influencing and gaining co-operation from others. Demonstratable experience in changing a culture and change management is required.nt
- Manufacturing Process and Capacity Development – Ensure systems and processes are in place to produce high-quality products on time and in a cost-effective manner. Develop and implement effective company policy in the areas of lean manufacturing techniques, quality, and cost reduction. Identify, communicate, and drive implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.nt
- Food Safety and Product Quality – Ensure the ongoing production of safe and defect free products consistent with the principles of the Company. Knowledge of HACCP is required.nt
- Track record of evaluating and improving equipment.nt
- Fully comply with plant policies and procedures.nt
- Responsible for plant and maintenance goals.nt
- Develop a well-trained and motivated staff.nt
- Ensure maintenance staffing requirements are met.nt
- Select and train maintenance supervisors and staff.nt
- Conduct employee performance reviews.nt
- Schedule and conduct department meetings.nt
- Ensure and demand a high level of safety awareness.nt
- Participate in monthly inspections of the entire facility.nt
- Enforce all safety policies, rules, and regulations.nt
- Teach, coach, and hold direct reports accountable for work assignment accuracy.nt
- Act as a liaison between plant and corporate departments, specifically the Engineering Department.nt
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe plant.nt
- Work with maintenance supervisors to decide if equipment should be worked onn

by in-house labor or contractors.

- Work with company to implement a five-year building plan.nt
- Assist in the development of all emergency preparedness plans for plant including power outages, hazardous spills, and catastrophic failure of equipment.nt
- Work with the parts department to ensure that necessary parts are on hand to complete regular work and scheduled PM’s.nt
- The Maintenance Manager supervises and advises 2 Maintenance Supervisors, a Maintenance Scheduler and Reliability Specialist, and a Facilities Manager.nt

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred; 5-10 years in progressive leadership in Manufacturing Operations or Maintenance required.nt
- Experience in leading Operations or Maintenance in a food manufacturing facility preferred.n

- Good personal computer skills in a network environment.nt
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Software – Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.nt
- Maintenance tracking system/software experience.nt
- Demonstrated experience of budgeting, cost control and budget review.nt
- Must possess a wide scope of knowledge of baking operations including processing, packaging, facility maintenance and engineering.nt
- Track record of evaluating and improving equipment performance.nt
- Skilled at developing management teams and individuals within the teams.nt
- Demonstrated experience in project management.nt
- Experience in work order systems, work scheduling, PM’s, and predictive maintenance.nt
- Must successfully complete Lock Out/Tag Out training.n
