“BEEF MANUFACTURING PLANT IN ABERDEEN SOUTH DAKOTA IS LOOKING FOR A REGISTERED NURSE TO WORK AT THE PLANT M-F. MUST HAVE A BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN SCIENCE AND MUST BE A REGISTERED NURSE. PAY RANGE IS $65-75k. THIS IS DIRECT HIRE AND A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO WORK IN A MANUFACTURING PLANT.

nPosition Summary: The registered nurse ensures the overall health of our team members. The provider recognizes hazards and works to prevent health effects from workplace exposures and cares for workers that sustain and injury or illness. The nurse actively participates in the continuous improvement process for the health service clinic and the overall facility.
n
nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
n
n• Manage the DemKota health service clinic.
n• Participate in incident reduction by developing an understanding of the factory processes.
n• Perform hazard analysis to help reduce injuries.
n• Plans and implements vaccine programs as needed,
n• Performs trend analysis on employee illnesses and injuries to identify safety and health issues.
n• Provides basis health education on an as needed basis.
n• Functions within the RN scope of practice.
n• Demonstrate awareness of an adherence to legal requirements pertinent to employee health and safety.
n• Maintain employee health records by keeping employee health information confidential.
n• Develop and maintain medical note summaries and written reports required for employee illness/injury reporting.
n• Provides initial assessment of employee injuries and ensures the proper referrals are made with the local occupational medical clinics.
n• Assist EHS manager in the submittal of workers’ compensation documentation to the insurance carrier.
n• Promotes healthy lifestyles by working with outside clinics in providing health fairs on smoking cessation, weight reduction, stress control, cancer screening, hypertension screening control, cholesterol reduction programs or other relevant topics.
n• Develop healthy lifestyle article each month to be shared with the plant.
n• Communicates with supervisors and managers to ensure work restrictions are followed.
n• Ensure supervisors submit incident investigations after first aid and recordable incidents.
n• Visually monitor light duty assignments to ensure that appropriate work restrictions are being followed.
n• Review documentation to determine if an employee can return to work when they have a non- work-related injury or illness.
n• May perform other job duties as assigned.
n• Manage the bloodborne pathogen program for the organization and ensure are housekeeping inside and outside the clinic meet the standard.

nQualifications:
n• Bachelor’s degree in nursing and 3 years of experience in occupational medicine.
n• Ability to gain a South Dakota RN license
n• Exceptional communication skills-verbal and written
n• Excellent organizational skills
n• Must be 18 yrs. of age & authorized to work in US
n• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
n• Must have the ability to read, write and speak English
n• Spanish speaking skills desired
n• General knowledge of an industrial work environment,
n• Basic understanding of industrial hygiene principles and engineering controls, and personal protective equipment
n• Knowledge of toxicology and epidemiology.
