Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in operating a variety of machines and processes to manufacture and pack food products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
nn
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
nn
Completes weekly employee schedule based on the production schedule and needs. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedule.
nn
Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
nn
In conjunction with Quality Assurance staff, inspects and measures products to verify conformance to specifications. Trains employees to identify product that does not meet specifications and ensure it is not shipped.
nn
Directs employees in adjusting machines, equipment, and work processes to ensure product specifications are met.
nn
Troubleshoots product quality issues.
nn
Develops, recommends, and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to improve production methods, equipment performance and efficiency, employee performance and product quality.
nn
Helps in resolving worker complaints or submits unsettled complaints to Human Resources department for action.
nn
Maintains time and production records.
nn
Documents line inefficiencies and down-time to identify issues. Works in conjunction with others to resolve them in a timely manner.
nn
Completes duties, and ensures that subordinates complete their duties, in accordance with Quality Assurance, GMP’s, EH&S and other company programs and procedures, and in accordance with government codes and regulations.

Participates as an active member of production management team.
nn
Works to maintain and improve on the quality, legality and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture.
nn
Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all times and reporting any potential contamination and suspicious activity to a manager immediately.
nn
Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
nn
Confers with management and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
nn
Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
nn
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Routes reports to designated plant personnel.
nn
Support all the requirements related to the site pest control program.
nn
Observe and enforce all safety rules to reduce accidents and injuries.
nn
Understand and comply with all applicable company policies (i.e., attendance, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, Employee Handbook, etc.)
nn
Complies with all applicable State/Federal laws, regulations, and policies (i.e., OSHA, FDA, etc.).
nn

Work Experience:

Three plus years of related bakery or food manufacturing experience and/or training

Prior supervisory experience required.

Physical Requirements:

Exposure to chemical cleaning solution (with protective gear)

Maintain constant mental focus and constantly be aware of surroundings

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather), and to rapid changes in temperature. The employee must be able to tolerate a work environment that contains flour dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Must have the ability to work a varying schedule which might include shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays.
