nWe are looking for a Manager to lead our Sanitation team at our Plant in Hayward, CA. The Sanitation Manager will be accountable for planning, directing, and managing employee work activities and the resources necessary for the sanitation process and support departments. Essential functions of this position include “on the floor” supervision of all staff utilized of the shift, directing all sanitation functions within the shift, and ensuring a successful transition from sanitation to manufacturing and an on time startup of the lines. Responsible for ensuring all activities performed are in accordance with established occupational safety, food safety and quality, cost, and performance specifications. This is an onsite position.

nPosition Essential Duties and Responsibilities
n
nEnsure 100% compliance with Master Sanitation Schedule and Corporate FSQA Policies and Procedures related to sanitation, hygiene, environmental controls and other pre-requisite programs.
nDevelop and enforce plant Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures (SSOPS); maintain SQF Policies and procedures.
nManager Sanitation budget and cost control performance indicators.
nOversee all activity in the shift in addition to Sanitation:
nResponsible to oversee the transition from sanitation to production and set up process.
nAssure Production processes startup on time and are performing to standards.
nProvide guidance and direction to the Production Crews during the third shft.
nCoordinate with Maintenance Manager to ensure completion of preventative maintenance and critical equipment repairs are completed during shift.
nDetermine staffing requirements and plan for the appropriate selection, training, and evaluation of all personnel within Sanitation.
nEnsure strict observance of all safety rules and regulations.
nEnsure only approved chemicals, chemical suppliers and processes for all Sanitation functions and SSOP’s are followed at all times.
nPlan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
nMaintain daily Sanitation documentation to verify sanitation activities and to ensure compliance to standards.
nDocument corrective action for all deficiencies noted on SQF, pre-operational and corporate audits.
nDevelop and direct worker training to improve work performance and educate workers on company policies and procedures.
nCollaborate with other management, engineering, and quality assurance personnel to resolve production problems and recommend measures to improve the operations and utilization of machines and equipment.
nPrepare department budget and monitor expenditure accordingly.
nPrepare and maintain efficiency and variance reports to monitor daily KPI within Sanitation.
nPlan and manage the execution of sanitation processes including the master sanitation clean-up schedule, chemical inventory levels, permits, licenses, application and records and incompliance with Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), Master Sanitation Schedule, and occupational safety and organic integrity requirements.
nProvide TPM leadership, coaching in direction for the third shift group.
nPerforms other duties as assigned.

nPosition Qualifications

nBachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent technical school degree preferred or equivalent experience and education
n3-5 years production or related experience in a food manufacturing facility required
nExperience supporting regulatory audits, measuring and improving processes to meet organization goals while coordinating with other departments and managers
nShould be detail and performance oriented, with high level of accuracy, and excellent interpersonal skills
nStrong leadership and team building skills.
nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
nAbility to write routine reports and correspondence.
