Quality Control Superintendent  130k – 150k DOE plus generous bonus that's dependent on company profit. Cement experience is required, BS in Chemical, Chemistry, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering is desired.

Will offer relocation assistance which can include a lump sum amount grossed up for taxes, temp housing for up to 3 months, there’s an annual bonus paid out every March – MIP points (management incentive program), company contributes 9% of annual salary to the 401k (regardless of whether the employee contributes) and they contribute 50% match up to 3% to the 401k, there are 7 paid holidays, and 3 floating holidays, they also close the day before a holiday weekend. 

Will oversee the Quality area, be the Subject Matter Expert, monitor cost control, work with Quality on production problems, should be creative, make sure work is being done correctly, succession planning is important, be a big picture person when it comes to staff, develop managers, overall process is important at the production level. Would consider someone with past Cement experience but the key will be whether you're keeping up with industry changes; how long were you in the Cement industry (hopefully a few years), are you staying current in the industry and do you want to return to it?

Will consider someone who’s been a Quality Manager, QC Manager or Director of Quality. Redding is beautiful, they live off the grid, it’s a mountain type town, it’s not a hustle bustle city type of area, it’s more outdoorsy,

Compensation

$130,000 – $150,000 annually DOE

Responsibilities

  • Control inventories and quality of various materials
  • Regulate and order imported materials used in the process as needed to ensure adequate inventory, quality, and minimize costs 
  • Ensure the testing of all material to guarantee quality and optimize operations; report and file results of testing 
  • Work with all operating personnel to assist in maintaining efficient, cost-conscious operation while manufacturing a uniform product
  • Interpret results of quality control tests and work with Production Engineers to improve operations and lower cost per ton
  • Monitor cost control statements for the Laboratory, Quarry, Shipping, and Yards and Roads Departments
  • Work with the Production Superintendent, Engineering, and Maintenance Superintendent to solve quality and production problems 
  • Assist and advise Central Laboratories, Sales Department, and Technical Services with respect to customer service issues
  • Communicate with customers information pertaining to product quality and assist with potential problems
  • Ensure that alternate new raw materials meet Company guidelines

Education

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, or Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
 

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Experience working in a laboratory in a cement manufacturing plant environment
  • Managerial experience
  • Must be highly motivated and dedicated to improving the operations of a plant
  • Ability to motivate others
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively with others
     

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
