“BEEF PLANT IN ABERDEEN SD NEEDS A MAINTENANCE MECHANIC ON DAY SHIFT DIRECT HIRE . THEY SAID THEY WILL LOOK AT MILLWRIGHT MECHANICS AS WELL. HYDRAULICS AND PNEUMATICS IS HUGE FOR THIS ROLE. . PAY RANGE IS 24-28HR NO HIGHER.

nGeneral Maintenance Technician
nReports To: Shift Maintenance Supervisor

nLocation: Aberdeen, SD
nJob Summary: Individual is responsible for repairs and maintenance of all plant equipment. Inspects equipment for proper functioning and preventive maintenance performs troubleshooting, installation and startup of new equipment.

  • Ability to operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment.

  • Ability to work in a hot, cold and or wet environment.

  ntt

  • Welding is a plus but not required. Must follow all safety practices.

  • Operate all shop equipment such as grinders, cut-off saws, power tools, ladders etc.

  • Operate Hydraulic, air or electric hand tools.

  • Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns (for example, pinpointing and repairing problems associated with high speed manufacturing line breakdowns)

  • Working with hydraulic systems (understanding high-pressure cylinders, pumps, or valves and reading schematics and using for troubleshooting in high-speed manufacturing)

  ntt

  • Working with pneumatics (for example, working with solenoids, cylinders, or motor brakes and reading schematics and using for troubleshooting in high speed manufacturing)

  • Working with electrical systems (for example, working with high voltage, installation, motor testing, troubleshooting)

nRequired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:n

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently.

• Ability to walk, stand, lift for 8 – 10-hour shifts.

nt

• Must be a self-starter who can work without direct supervision.

• Flexible work schedule which may include nights and weekends.

nt

• Must be able to read, understand, and document/communicate findings on daily preventative maintenance orders.

nt

• Ability to read, write and speak English.

nt

• Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse work environment.

nt

• Ability to operate forklifts, skid loaders, man lifts, and payloaders.

nt

• Two years of general maintenance and repair exp. or any equivalent combination of experience and or education.

nt

• Knowledge of OSHA is a plus.

• Able to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.

• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and stooping, as needed.
