Currently hiring for 3rd shift (10 pm – 6:30 am).

Need 1 on 3^rd shift, there are three 8 hour shifts, sometimes averages 8.5 to 9 hour shifts. There are OT opportunities to work longer shifts as well as 6 days if the mechanic wants to work more hours. Run production Sunday (Sunday is the big start up day) through Friday and Saturday is the heaviest maintenance day.  The workdays are Tues – Sat and Sun – Thursday, whichever workday schedule you're put on will be constant.

nThe job is primarily 60% mechanical and 40% electrical, 120/240/480 volt, dealing with sensors, changing motors, changing control panels, it's helpful if they have good PLC troubleshooting (VFD desired, ladder logic is great) skills, some exposure to PLC’s is required.

Developing a mechanical hands on aptitude test, but right now they have a written multiple choice, candidate needs to score at least 50% on the test, it’s 70% mechanical, it’s timed 30 minutes with 79 questions.

There are 10 current mechanics, new guys will report to the Director of Facilities. Family owned for over 100 years, very family centric, the culture is excellent. Currently doing a 3k sign on bonus – 50% paid out after 3 months and the other 50% at 6 months. Strong 401k – 3% company contribution even if the employee contributes nothing, employees are immediately vested from day one. Employees eligible for benefits the first of the month following their date of hire  – United Healthcare Insurance, company pays for the life insurance and short term and long term disability, employees are paid weekly, benefits cost about $35 a week for just the employee, and about $110 a week for a family plan.

Summary

Reporting to the Facilities Director, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing mechanical and electrical maintenance on production, packaging and warehouse equipment including heating and refrigeration systems, conveyors, motors, and related components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of industrial manufacturing maintenance of production lines.

nt

• Utilize CMMS system and ensure work orders are complete and corrective maintenance issues are logged in the system.

nt

• Effectively communicate with production personnel and other mechanics to identify areas of concern; provide and receive feedback and/or support through collection and analysis of information.

nt

• Perform electrical repairs and troubleshoot for the following: PLC Controls, AC & DC motor controls, solid state motor controls, advance circuits and grounding, interpret diagrams and test equipment.

• Read schematics, drawings, and manuals to establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

nt

• Support facility utilities including: waste water equipment, compressed air, refrigeration, boilers, and building safety equipment.

nt

• Perform daily inspections, emergency repairs, and routine adjustments; follow periodic preventive maintenance schedule.

nt

• Maintain organized documentation, inspection records, etc.

nt

• Install new electrical and mechanical equipment as directed. Perform building repairs and modifications when required.

• Perform Preventative Maintenance tasks as assigned, identifies and corrects deficiencies, both to the asset and to the preventive maintenance instruction sets and frequencies.

• Assist with spare parts inventory maintenance.

nt

• Support continuous improvement projects and maintain a safe working environment.

nt

• Follow all food safety guidelines and report food safety and quality issues to supervisor.

• Practice Good Housekeeping.

Technical Skill Requirements

• Electrical; 110 – 480V, AC & DC control, wiring & ladder diagrams, PLC/Inverter troubleshooting.

• Welding; Gas, Arc, Mig, Tig, steel, brass, aluminum, stainless, cast iron, plasma cutting.

• Heating & Refrigeration; Freezers, coolers, water chillers, air conditioners, gas fired heating systems, boilers, water heaters and heat exchangers.

• Four or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
