Quality Manager
Need someone who knows quality management systems, process improvement, ISO audits, can handle conflict resolution with customers, manage quality department – not just understand quality but also the whole quality process, you will have 5 people reporting to you (CMM Programmer, Quality Tech, Quality Engineer, Gaging Inspector, and a Receiving Inspector on 2nd shift), there is flexibility with the shift hours (6 am – 2:30, or 7 am – 3:30 pm, 8 – 4:30, 9 – 5:30 pm – just need someone to get the job done and not clock watch, willing to work until the necessary work is done for that day).

Mon – Fri workweek, maybe 1 Saturday a month, the Quality department guys rotate Saturdays so you may want to come in at least one Saturday a month to make sure your people are performing efficiently. Target salary range is $75k – $85k DOE, if you have Supply Chain background that's a big plus, a degree is highly preferred, but if you have say 20 years of machining experience, particularly in the automotive industry or armament industry, a degree isn't necessary.

There are discretionary bonuses, there are 4 Blue Cross/4 Blue Shield – all PPO plans, most affordable one is $35 a week, dental/vision, life, short term, disability, 2 weeks paid vacation and 3 sick days, 401k with 4% employer match, eligible for benefits at 60 days. They're an e-verify company so candidate must pass that as well as a 10 panel drug test, and a background check.


Under the general direction of the General Manager, the Quality Manager is responsible for all activities in the Quality group to provide products to customers in conformance with standards and goals.


  • Recommends changes in operating procedures to promote greater efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Recommends stoppage of further processing, delivery of product until it conforms with customer requirements or until any deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.


  • Support and maintain all policies of the company including but not limited to ISO Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement as well as standard work procedures.
  • Monitor and communicate Quality metrics to Senior Management supporting Company Goals, budgets, and objectives.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality management system that achieves and sustains compliance with relevant industry quality standards and customer requirements, and that are aligned with strategic plan.
  • Manages and coordinates activities of the quality department.
  • Ensure timely and thorough resolution of customer complaints
  • Analyze and interpret quality data.
  • Detect, analyze, and solve problems affecting quality by utilizing 5 why, Fishbone diagrams and PDCA methodology
  • Manage employees, assign, direct and evaluate their work: oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
  • Coordinate and Prioritize quality support projects in a timely manner.
  • Solicit customer feedback for the purpose of driving improvements and customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate and approve budgets, bids, contracts, and agreements associated with the department
  • Ensure and employ comprehensive understanding of customer specification/expectations from project inceptions through end of life to ensure products are produced under validated and controlled processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as engineering, manufacturing, or quality assurance is preferred.
  • Minimum five years involvement in a Quality role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts, statistical knowledge.
  • Practices and supports all Lean Manufacturing tools to assist the Company in the continuous improvement process such as PDCA, 5 Why and Fishbone diagrams.

  • Office Space – Climate controlled
  • Industrial Facility – Fans provided in summertime, but not climate controlled. Heat provided in wintertime, but facility still subject to temperature variation.
  • Noisy work environment: ear plugs are available throughout facility for everyone.
  • Smoke/haze due to machines operating, have floor fans and smog hogs throughout facility.
  • Machines may spray coolant or chips of material; safety glasses are always to be worn.
  • Steel-toed (or equivalent) protective footwear required in manufacturing areas.
