Title: Maintenance Technician – Rolling Stock 

Classification: Non Exempt
Reports To: Fleet Maintenance  Manager       
Position Type: Full-time     Shift: 1st    Hours: May Vary
Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and/or rebuilds all trucks and trailers in department as necessary.
Essential Functions (Other duties may be assigned and management retains the discretion to add, delete, or change the duties at any time)
•    Troubleshoots, repairs and rebuilds equipment in department which includes but is not limited to:  trucks and trailers. 
•    Repairs and maintains equipment as it relates to electrical, mechanical and hydraulics by methods such as:  welding, fabricating, torching and painting, etc.
•    Maintain and repair other equipment such as cranes, forklifts, bob-cats and engines.  
•    Works with the Operations Manager, SIRS maintenance department and/or designee to design, modify, or change equipment to work for specific functions
•    Ensures all monthly preventative maintenance is performed in accordance to ISO quality procedures and work instructions
•    Performs work orders as assigned
•    Uses required PPE protective equipment as required which includes, but is not limited to, proper ear, eye, hand and face protection
•    Complies with all lockout/tagout procedures
•    Performs general and scheduled maintenance on all equipment within the plant
•    Inventories and tracks all parts for in-house equipment
•    Maintains regular and predictable attendance

Required education and experience 
•    High School or G.E.D. required
•    Technical education or training beyond high school highly desired
•    Three to five years of related experience with solid work history
•    Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic background; welding and torching experience required
Preferred education and experience 
•    Knowledge of electronics recycling equipment helpful
•    PLC and robotics experience a plus

•    Knowledge of Internet, spreadsheet and word processing software
•    Ability to work Overtime as required; flexibility to work different shifts as required
Physical Demands
•    Routinely required to stand and walk; use hands to handle and feel; reach with arms and hands; as well as climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
•    Routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 
•    Routinely exposed to moving and mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock
•    Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat and outside weather
•    Specific vision requirements include color, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
