WAREHOUSE DELIVERY DRIVER – CLASS B

PAY DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

Under direction from the Warehouse Manager, as the warehouse delivery driver you will provide excellent customer service by making prompt and courteous deliveries of customer orders. Make pick-ups as necessary. Perform general warehouse duties and customer assistance as needed. Perform all job responsibilities in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

Duties for a Warehouse Delivery Driver

Tasks may include, but not limited to the following:

  1. Drive company vehicle/delivery truck to make customers deliveries and stock pick-ups, obeying traffic laws and safety procedures. Maintain appropriate licensing, credentials and acceptable driving record.
  2. Load truck accurately and safely for customer deliveries. Deliver to daily set of customers as assigned and off-load product from truck to customer location. Customer location requires driver to take product inside of store with hand truck, carrying boxes/totes, pallet load with pallet jack. Properly count items upon delivery. Obtain signature or scan to confirm and complete deliveries with customers.
  3. Use of pallet jack, hand truck, and warehouse cart.
  4. Drivers may be asked to fill customer orders by retrieving material from the warehouse and other locations, verifying quantities and quality of materials, ensuring product is properly organized
  5. Practice personal safety and vigilance in the identification of safety and security hazards to actively support a safe and hazard free working environment.
  6. Use proper body mechanics while lifting to avoid injuries and comply with safe handling procedures regarding receiving, storing, and shipping materials, supplies, and/or equipment.
  7. Continuously update product knowledge. Stay informed and educated as to product inventory and applicability. Know location of merchandise in warehouse.
  8. Perform mathematical computations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, and percentages) for checking, counting, shipping, and tracking materials.
  9. Complete tasks in a timely, detailed, and orderly manner.
  10. Follow instructions to ensure comprehensive and follow through.
  11. Participate in ongoing education and training as directed.
  12. Read and comprehend written materials (e.g., references, summaries, memos, letters) in order to apply information and determine appropriate courses of action.
  13. Perform vehicle inspections as required, schedule routine or repair maintenance as needed. Maintain presentable truck appearance, cleaning as needed.
  14. May need to participate in maintaining warehouse, office and restroom cleanliness.
  15. Performs all duties in a safe and responsible manner, following all safety rules. Inform manager of any potentially hazardous conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  2. Valid Class B commercial driver’s license required
  3. Must be 21+ to apply
  4. 1 year of driving a tractor-trailer or large truck preferred
  5. Educated about relevant vehicle weight restrictions
  6. Previous experience in a warehouse and driving experience preferred.
  7. Physically strong
  8. Be able to sit/stand and/or walk for 8 hours at a time without any issues.
  9. Be able to reach, push, pull, squat and bend for 8 hours or more.
  10. Clean driving record with no moving violations
  11. Must pass a background check and drug test.

Abilities and Physical Requirements

  1. Understanding common forms and documents used in a shipping department
  2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, or carry; reach with hands and arms. The delivery driver role requires employee to sit; climb or balance or stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift items 10 lbs. to 50lbs and sometimes up to 70lbs.
  3. Must be able to safely tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
  4. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; read and identify numbers for accurate order filling and receiving of material. The employee is regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic performing daily tasks. The employee is required to be able to safely operate a forklift, pallet jack.
