Position Summary

Will primarily work out of Long Beach site 80% of the time but will come to Santa Fe Springs site at times for meetings/observations.
As the Associate Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects within scope, budget, and timeline. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage resources, and ensure successful project delivery. Establish methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Monitor and analyze project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Initiation: 
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. 
  • Develop detailed project plans, including tasks, timelines, and resource allocation. 
  • Identify risks and create mitigation strategies. 
  • Identify and implement automated systems to track projects and provide real-time metrics.
  • Identify Product Lifecyle Management capacities.
  • Project Execution: 
  • Lead project teams, assign tasks, and monitor progress. 
  • Coordinate activities across departments and stakeholders. 
  • Ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets. 
  • Communicate project status to stakeholders. 
  • Resource Management: 
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet project goals. 
  • Manage team members, contractors, and vendors. 
  • Resolve resource conflicts and bottlenecks. 
  • Identify and report resource constraints

 

  • Quality Assurance: 
  • Monitor project quality and compliance with standards. 
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments. 
  • Implement corrective actions as needed. 
  • Risk Management: 
  • Identify and assess project risks. 
  • Develop risk mitigation plans. 
  • Proactively address issues to prevent delays. 
  • Stakeholder Communication: 
  • Maintain open communication with clients, partners, team members, and executives. 
  • Present project updates, milestones, and results. 
  • Address stakeholder concerns and feedback. 
  • Project Closure: 
  • Ensure smooth project handover and transition. 
  • Conduct post-project evaluations and lessons learned sessions. 
  • Celebrate project successes with the team. 

Food Safety Responsibilities

  • Every employee is responsible for Food Safety
  • Regarding site visits originating in Santa Fe Springs, attends to visitors and requires visit compliances.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Pre-requisite programs if in processing or warehouse areas including:
  • Personnel Hygiene (including hand wash procedures)
  • Personnel Processing Practices
  • Food Defense Procedures
  • Must report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action: SQF Practitioner, Quality Management, Plant/Production Management, or Supervisors

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or related field. 
  • PMP certification or equivalent. 
    • 3+ years of project management experience in a food or nutraceutical environment. 
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Monday, PLM systems etc). 
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, problem-prevention/solving skills and business/financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
